The 4th Annual Ventura Farm Day will take place Saturday, November 5. On Farm Day, more than 20 Ventura County farms open their doors and invite the public to experience a day of agricultural learning firsthand. This free event for all ages connects the community with its farming neighbors.
Attendees pick the locations they want to visit, and drive themselves to the farms. Each farm has fun-filled activities for the entire family to enjoy.
Start the weekend off with a Farm Film Fest Friday, November 4 at Ventura Mission Park. Enjoy 4 short films about farm animals and the motion picture Babe. All beginning at 5:00pm.
After the film fest get plenty of sleep for your big farm day on Saturday, November 5th. Every farm is different, but the farms will feature a number of family-friendly activities such as free produce, min-tours, agricultural book signings, and food and beverage samplings. Farm Day hours are 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to visit www.VenturaCountyFarmDay.com, select two or three farms that they would like to visit and then map out their day.
Following the farm tours is a culminating barbeque at the Ventura County Fairgrounds (San Miguel Building) in Ventura. The barbeque is from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and features live country music by Coldwater Canyon, farm-fresh food prepared by Young Farmers & Ranchers, locally-produced craft cocktails, beers, and wines; and kids activities. Barbeque tickets are $40 for adults and $15 for kids under 12. Tickets are now on sale on Eventbrite.
