MACARONI MADE: SORBET JACK-O-LANTERNS

October 22, 2009
Fun and healthy!  A refreshing change to the chocolates and sweets!   You need:   4 navel oranges 2 pints of your choice of softened sorbet

Directions:

Cut the top quarter of each orange, and save for lid. Scoop or cut out interior of oranges. You can save the flesh for another use, like fresh orange juice!

Cut out features with a craft knife or other small, sharp knife.   Fill each orange with sorbet, and top it with a "lid." Use a floral wire, and poke it in, but not through the top of orange for tendrils. Place in the freezer until firm, about 30 minutes. Jack-o-Lanterns can be frozen for up to 3 days.
