Macaroni Made: Turkey Cookies

By Jody Lynn Chin, MK PM November 10, 2011

This is actually a pretty easy thing to do with the kids.

What you need:

1.    Either make your own sugar cookie dough and cut them into circles or save some time and buy some at the store and roll it out and cut into circles.

2.    You will need frosting in the tube the large one in orange or brown and frosting in the small tube in orange (you can buy the frostingin a tube either at Target or a craft store like Michaels or Joanns).

3.    Candy corns and candy eyes I bought at Joann’s or if you can’t find the eyes you can use any candy you would like for the eyes m & m’s work great to.

The thing about sugar cookies is that you can freeze the cookies in the freezer until you are ready to make the cookies,  so you don’t have to do it all in one sitting if you do not want to.

Just start by using the large tube of frosting and squirt a line of frosting around the top half of the cookie.  Then place candy corns in that frosting along the top the frosting is what holds the candy corns on.  Then squirt 2 dots where the eyes should be with the small tube of frosting and set your candy in and that will hold the eyes in place.  If you use M & M’s just squirt a small dot of black on each M & M and they will look more like eyes. Then last but not least use the orange to make a “ v “ for the nose and then draw on the feet.

My kids had a great time making them and so did I !
