By Sara McGill, Macaroni Kid South Tampa-MacDill & Brandon December 22, 2011

Here's a fun edible snowman craft your kids will love making. They are great for holiday parties or when wrapped individually they can make a fun sweet gift.

DIY Snowman on a Stick

Here's what you need:

  • Large white marshmallows
  • Fruit roll ups or something like it
  • Mini chocolate chips or other candy for eyes and nose
  • Thin pretzel sticks
  • Chocolate Kisses, mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups or Rolos - for hat
  • White candy melts - find them at your local craft stores, kitchen specialty shop or order online
  • Lollipop or popsicle dowels or bamboo skewers from grocery or craft store

Here's what you do:

  1. Stick three marshmallows on the dowel but don't let the top one poke through.
  2. Cut Fruit Roll Up into long, thin strip to wrap around "snowman's" neck.
  3. On the stove or in a microwave, melt candy melts according to package directions. Spoon into a plastic baggie and cut a tiny hole in one corner.
  4. Use melted candy like "glue" for the eyes, nose, hat and scarf if needed.
  5. Poke pretzels in for arms and use candy melt "glue" to secure them. Let melted candy set and your ready to eat or serve at a party!

Enjoy!
