Easy and low-cost craft for kids

By Jody Lynn Chin, MK PM January 19, 2021

Here is an easy budget-friendly craft making glass magnets to keep older kids busy and entertained! Create a whole set of these DIY glass magnets, perfect for home, school lockers or gifts for grandparents.

Please note:  Keep these tiny magnets out of reach of little ones, especially babies and kids under three years old or older kids who like to put things in their mouth.

DIY Glass Magnets

Supplies needed:

  • Glue that dries clear
  • Glass beads that you can find in the floral section at craft stores
  • Magnets - any size really just as long as they are small enough not to be seen when you glue it to the glass
  • A circle hole punch - I’ve been using a ¾"
  • Any picture that you would like to use. Out of the newspaper, magazines, print outs, etc.

Macaroni tip:  All these supplies can be easily found at your local craft or discount store.

Directions:
  1. Punch out your picture with the hole punch.
  2. Take the glue and put a squirt onto the glass spread it around a little bit and put the picture on. Let it dry then glue on the magnet -  that’s it!

The nice thing is that if you don’t like it if you soak it in warm soapy water for awhile the glue and picture will come off and you can start over.

Just a reminder:  Use caution around little ones, especially babies and kids under three years old or older kids who like to put things in their mouth and keep these out of their reach.

Have Fun!
