Update for 2020

As we focus on the health and safety of our staff and campers, and respond to updates from our facility partners who host our summer camps, we have made significant changes to our programming this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic:

In-person camp for 2020 Cancelled: We’ve made the very difficult decision to cancel our in-person camps scheduled for the 2020 summer season.*

Live Online Summer Camp Classes: As summer begins, we will be launching live online summer camp classes for kids entering grades kindergarten through 8th grades. We will announce enrollment beginning at the end of May/early June. Check back on the Galileo website for details, or subscribe for email updates about Camp Galileo Anywhere to be notified when enrollment opens. We will continue to roll-out new classes weekly.

Free Resources for Families:  We know that many families are facing a challenging time now and will be into the summer as they juggle multiple priorities that may include managing kids’ schedules, home-life and work. To address those needs, we have developed Camp Galileo Anywhere – a set of free resources that include kid-friendly project challenges, videos, printables and helpful articles from our experienced educators and curriculum-creators.

For families who had already enrolled for camp for spring or summer of 2020, click here to understand more about your options, and here for Galileo FAQs. To learn more about Galileo’s restructure, you can click here for the latest information.

Awaken your child's innovative spirit at Camp Galileo. With captivating weeklong themes to spark their imaginations, campers engage in daily hands-on art, science and outdoor challenges that build their creative confidence and transform their way of thinking—all wrapped up in big summer fun.

Also, In Counselor in Training (CIT), 7th through 10th graders will become junior camp counselors and participate in a variety of exciting tracks and leadership development activities - mentoring young campers and leading new ceremonies and celebrations – all with the support from Galileo staff.

  • National Parks Adventure: Create art influenced by the animals and awe-inspiring scenery of Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon and Olympic National Park. Build camping gear from bear canisters to backpacks and investigate the mechanics of condors and grasshoppers. (Week of June 29 and July 20)
  • Toy Makers Workshop: Put a creative twist on the classics, designing custom Go Fish cards, imagination-fueled model cars or hand-painted pinball machine back glass. Engineer your own spin-art spinner, working arcade game or a toy shop to sell your wares. (Week of July 6 and July 27)

Counselor In Training - Grades 7th through 10th

With 8 different journeys to choose from, CITs can pair two journeys/week with the option to mix-and-match their experience over multiple weeks! Counselors in Training will participate in a dynamic choose-your-path style schedule. In addition to learning from amazing Galileo educators, CITs will spend part of each week gaining new experience in a series of Journeys. Each Journey is designed to allow junior counselors to dive deeper into areas that interest them most while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
