The City of Thousand Oaks will bring the second annual Pop-Up Arts & Music Festival to Thousand Oaks over three weekends in June starting on June 14 and continuing thru June 29, 2019.
As the name suggests, the festival will feature “pop-up” public performances and activities at a variety of locations throughout Thousand Oaks. The primary goal of the festival is to provide residents and visitors with an opportunity to actively participate in and enjoy the arts in unexpected and distinctive locations throughout the community. These sites will include small neighborhood parks, historical sites, and the Lakes.
City Manager Andrew Powers states “Last year we tried something new by bringing visual and performing arts directly into the community; and feedback was great. The City is proud to host this summer’s 2nd Pop-Up Series and once again showcase a wide array of accessible, family-oriented arts events.”
The Festival will feature SEVEN free events over three weekends from June 14-29, 2019. In partnership with local arts organizations, the festival will include local and regional artistic talent, in addition to nationally recognized performing artists.
“The Pop-Up Arts & Music Festival spotlights the diversity of our local arts community and provides an opportunity for residents to come together in shared cultural experiences. This year we have created a lineup that we hope provides something for everyone.” Barry McComb, Cultural Affairs Director.
