Museums are a great place to find family fun things to do! I've taken my kids to all sorts of museums - indoors, outdoors, hands on and more. Smithsonian magazine annual Free museum day is back this year on September 17, 2022. Museum Day is an annual celebration hosted by Smithsonian magazine. Take the day, visit one of the participating museums for Free - and who doesn't like free? Museums are a great place to engage, educate and stimulate your kids. There are many participating museums to choose from - from one nearby in Thousand Oaks to Oxnard and Santa Barbara plus a few in Los Angeles and all over Southern California, make a day-trip out of it.
Participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket.
