The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute is excited to announce the first annual Ronald Reagan Oratory Competition! This unique opportunity invites students in grades 5-12 to bring President Reagan's words to life.
What’s the Competition About?
Students will receive excerpts from President Reagan’s speeches — selected by the Reagan Foundation —and will record their presentations. The goal is to capture Reagan’s warmth, sincerity, and style, just like he did in his memorable addresses. Participants will compete in two divisions: Middle School - grades 5-8,and High School - grades 9-12.
What Are the Prizes?
The top 5 performers from each division will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington D.C. to participate in the national finals:
- Middle School Winners will enjoy a D.C. trip and discounts on Reagan Education Programs.
- High School Winners will also compete for a grand prize of $1,000.

Judging Criteria
Submissions will be judged on:
- Presentation: Body language, eye contact, and overall presence.
- Pace: Rhythm and speed of delivery.
- Tone: Capturing Reagan’s distinctive speaking style.
- Accuracy: Staying true to the provided excerpts.
