Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park Library Holiday Information:
New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving (and the day after), and Christmas Day. The library is also closed for City Holidays (which vary) and certain large events in the park due to the impact on library parking.

The Friends’ Library Bookshops Are Open - Both locations:
While at the library, please visit our in-library Friends' Bookshops. The shelves are full and ready for you to browse. Book sales in all locations benefit the library, so shop early and often and stock up for the summer! Come re-immerse yourself in the pleasure of browsing our shelves; take home a new author or an old favorite, and stock up for summer reading. Books in every genre, waiting for you to take them home!
Three ways of shopping:
- In-Person: Friends’ Bookshop shelves in both libraries are filled with a wide, ever-changing variety of gently loved books in great condition.
- Amazon: The Friends’ Amazon Marketplace storefront lets you shop for that special title right from your phone, your tablet or your desktop.
- eBay: The Friends also maintain an eBay storefront with specialty books, collector sets and other unique items. Check it out.

Community donations - Do you have gently loved books, CDs or DVDs at home?
Please consider donating them to the Friend of the Thousand Oaks Library. FTOL is accepting donations at both the Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park libraries during regular library hours. Please do not leave materials in the parking lot after library hours.
The Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library
FTOL is a volunteer run non-profit that raises funds for the benefit of the library through the sale of donated books and other media. The proceeds from the sale of donated items help the library meet its budget needs for programs, materials, and technology. We rely on community donations to help carry out our mission of supporting the library; please keep us in mind when you have materials to donate. Click the link above to learn more.

- Hardback and paperback books in good condition – both fiction and non-fiction
- Children’s and young adult books
- Coffee table books and collectible books
- Music CDs
- Audio books on CD
- DVDs or Blu-ray discs of movies, TV series, and documentaries
Items we are unable to accept include:
- Records or 8 track tapes
- Encyclopedia sets or single volumes
- Items which are moldy, torn, missing pages or covers
- Items that are water or otherwise damaged
- VHS tapes
- Cassette tapes
- Clothes or household items
- Magazines, maps, journals and pamphlets
