Description

California Young Artists Symphony November 10th 2024 at 3 PM Concert – Kavli Theatre – Thousand Oaks The California Young Artists Symphony opens its fourth season with an unforgettable evening of music at the Kavli Theatre in Thousand Oaks, conducted by CYAS Director and Founder Alexander Tseitlin.

The largest symphonic event in Ventura County of the season, the program begins Brahm’s mighty Double Concerto for Violin and Cello, with guest soloists Martin Chalifour (LA Phil, USC) and Marek Szpakiewicz (APU). The Conejo Valley Choral Society then joins CYAS for a rare performance of Debussy’s Nocturnes, a mesmerizing work for Symphony and Female Chorus. The program closes with Gyorgy Ligeti’s “Atmospheres.” Composed by one of the most renowned writers of the 20th century, this work is an ethereal journey through sound which calls for over 50 individual string parts.

A rare experience for audiences, many music-goers only hear this work once in their lifetime. CYAS is a pre-professional orchestra bridging young musicians to the professional world by presenting monumental programs with world-renowned guest artists and directors.
