Boat Parades
Oak Park Boat Parade
Also know in the Oak Park Community as "the Boat Parade!" The neighbor-made volunteer-run parade will be coming through select neighborhoods in Oak Park from their staging area at Oak Park High School on Kanan Road, rain or shine. They have been know to toss out small candies or toys so be ready to catch. I can't make any promises, but every year we have watched Santa has made a special appearance, either way you will not be disappointed.
My family and I look forward to this event every year, my kids even bring their Halloween pumpkins for their candy loot. I will share a little secret; our favorite place to watch the parade go by is from Deerhill Road near the park because the parade goes by twice. Grab your warmest coat and maybe an umbrella and enjoy this merry holiday tradition. Annually on the Sunday before Christmas, but not Christmas Eve.
