Celebrate Dad!

Plant a Vegetable Garden

Want to get your kids excited about vegetables? Get down and dirty and plant a vegetable garden together. No room? Many veggies can be planted in pots! 

I know we all need to eat more veggies and National Eat Your Vegetables Day on June 17 is a great reason to encourage your children to try new ones. Don't forget another perfect opportunity is to let your kids pick out some vegetable next time you're at the grocery store or local farmers market. They are more likely to eat it if they pick it out themselves. Make it a game and dare them to try something new.

Go on a Family Picnic

Everyone loves a picnic! International Picnic Day is June 18, but any day is perfect for a picnic. You can take your family and head to your favorite park, beach or simply throw a blanket down in your own backyard. Have an elaborate grilled meal, serve PB&Js or something in-between. How about that amazing potato salad? Well, that's just a bonus. 

Need some help planning? Maybe you would rather pack your picnic to-go and hike looking for the perfect spot with the perfect view . . . or stay cool - grab your beach chairs, blanket, cooler and lots of cold drinks and yummy eats taking your picnic to the beach.
